Daenerys Targaryen, a young woman and one of the last surviving members of House Targaryen, is a fictional heroine and one of the primary protagonists within George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire fantasy series and the adapted television series Game of Thrones. On a quest to regain her family’s rightful claim to ruling Westeros on the Iron Throne after being raised in exile, Daenerys Targaryen’s journey is one of empowerment and liberation as she works her way back to the throne with the assistance of her dragons and her united armies comprised of freed slaves and nomadic Dothraki clans.
